The free calculator is designed to be useful without an account. Working answers stay in the browser tab unless you deliberately request an emailed report.
What stays on your device
Your project description and working answers are stored in the browser tab so a refresh does not immediately erase your work. They are not silently written to the FreelancerPlanning database. Close the tab or use “Start a new estimate” to remove that working draft.
What can be stored with your permission
If you request an emailed report, the service stores your email address, project label, platform, calculation scores, effort, price floor, delivery model, and generated discovery questions. The project description is intentionally excluded from the report request.
Support tickets store the name, email address, topic, and message you choose to provide. Example-report subscriptions store an email address, consent evidence, and the download source, without calculator answers or project descriptions.
Production safeguards
Production traffic is served over HTTPS by the hosting platform.
Database and email-delivery secrets remain on the server and are not exposed to the browser.
Public database-table access is disabled. Validated server routes handle report and contact submissions.
Public forms validate type and length, use a bot trap, and reject unexpected fields.
Your part in protecting client information
Use neutral project labels where possible. Do not enter passwords, API keys, access tokens, payment-card data, health information, or confidential facts that the pricing calculation does not need. Only use client material you have the right to process.
Report a concern
If you believe information was submitted by mistake or you find a security concern, use the contact form and select “Security concern” or “Privacy or data request.” Do not include sensitive evidence in the first message.
